About Eira.Worx

Welcome, I'm Carlos Pereira. The works you see here are part of Eira.Worx, a personal project that lets me explore and express my inner world through abstract painting.

Born and raised in Cascais, Portugal, my roots are deeply connected to the rhythm of the sea. The ever-changing coastline, with its vast stretches of sand and powerful waves, has always been my first muse. The name "Eira" is a nod to my last name, Pereira, and represents a space of convergence, a place where my influences and ideas come together to be refined into something new.

From a young age, I was drawn to the blank space, experimenting with different mediums to capture the world as I saw it. This passion eventually led me to the Institute of Visual Arts, Design and Marketing (IADE) in Lisbon. While my formal studies focused on marketing and advertising, my personal exploration of creativity never stopped. It was there that I discovered a new dimension of visual storytelling through photography, a pursuit that led to my work being featured on book covers in the USA, Brazil, and Italy, and in an advertising campaign in Mexico.

Today, my creative journey has come full circle, bringing me back to painting. I find creating abstracts to be very relaxing and a way to explore my own evolving style. My work is a mixture of influences, from the whimsical worlds of Klee to the emotional depths of Rothko and, sometimes, hints of the raw energy of Pollock. My current mood guides each piece, influencing how I explore the relationship between negative space and composition. I apply only what's essential to achieve harmony and depth, turning every painting into a personal exploration of my inner world.

The pieces you see here are a window into that journey, a collection of original creations, each one unique. No two are the same. This process is a continual search for what comes next, with every work being a new study, a new experiment, and a new discovery.

Thanks for being here.
